Relapse

Video: Relapse Trailer

Grief affects each parent differently as time
goes by.

The mother has found a unique way to avoid dealing with her grief. She is caught in a vicious cycle and must find a way to break the cycle for everyone in the family, including the child.

This small group study will provide discussion points related to addictions, playing God, and dealing properly with grief. Viewers will be encouraged to think critically about the various topics addressed in the original short film. The small group leader will be provided with the tools to promote discussion and to implement spiritual truths from God’s Word to give answers to questions that may arise from the discussion.

Relapse was written and directed by Ryan Smith.

Interesting. I am glad that Michael W. Smith is getting involved in helping with "critical thinking" as it applies to entertainment. I know that our students desperately need this. I will be buying this when it comes out.

This looks really good! I am so glad that these guys are endeavoring to make quality Christian worldview movies while at the same time challenging the Christian community to start thinking critically about all of the movies that we just let wave over us!
Randy says

I commented on Love at First Sight, but also wanted to comment on Relapse as well. I used this yesterday for my youth group and it took a little explanation, but I think it made a difference. There aren't a lot of movies/curriculum that deals with loss, sadness, or addiction and this movie does just that. I got this at LIfeway and it's available now. I would encourage all small group leaders to do something with it, it's very high quality not ubercheesy Christian fluff.
Diana DiConti says
This was absolutely profound to me personally! All I could see was myself, my actions, my son, and a mirror, in just a moments time. I cried out of a fear, but then realized, this is going to impact many many people to want to change who have addiction issues. God bless this film as it continues to be in progress! Diana
Laura Joyce says
